A GIRL BURNED TO DEATH.
CORONER'S INQUEST
An inquest was held this morning before Dr. Philson, coroner, into the circumstances surrounding the death of a young girl named Ogarita Molloy, who died yesterday from burns which she accidentally received at her aunt's residence, Victoria Quadrant, on Tuesday. Dr. Wine deposed that he was called to attend the child on Tuesday last, and found her in a semiconscious condition, and suffering from burns oil the neck, face and arms. He called in to see her in the evening, and found her slightly improved. On going to the house yesterday he was informed tha' '>c child had died. He considered that u...Ji was due to sudden collapse,. the effect of the burns. Mrs E. E. Wheeler, aunt of the deceased, stated that the child was with her on Tuesday. She went out into the garden, and shortly after heard the child calling for her. She ran to the house to find the child enveloped in flames, which she succeeded in extinguishing with a sack, burning her hands badly while doing so. She could not say how the child's clothes caught fire. There was a coal fire on the top of a colonial oven in the kitchen. The jury returned a verdict of " Accidentally burned to death."
