Captain Edwin reports : Wind between northwest and west and south at all places. Barometer rise everywhere ; sea heavy on all western coast, and after 12 hours heavy on east coast southward of East Cape. Tides good on western coast ot North Island, "and high on eastern coast of both islands south of east, moderate elsewhere. Westerly gales are to be expected at all places southward of East Cape, Taupo and Raglan, and strong westerly winds from thence northward. Rain is probable in parts of the South Island.
