MESSRS A. BUCKLAND AND SONS'

NEW PREMISES.

The new Haymarket in Albert-street built specially for the growing business of Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons, auctioneers, was formally opened at noon to-day with a sale of thoroughbreds and other horses. A large crowd was present, but buyers were limited. Oma and the rest of Mr D. McKinnon's lot were passed. The Master and The Slave also failed to find buyers. On behalf of Mr A. Buckland the following were sold :—Brenda, three years, by Hotchkiss—Fairy Queen, 23gs, T. Buckland; yearling filly by St. Leger—Fairy Queen, 20gs, H. Gorrie. Trotting horses the property of Mr J. R. Corrigan were disposed of as follows :—Cobweb, 22gs, B. Armitage; Mihangi, 16_gs, Lendrum; Cigar, 17gs, Fawcett. A number of half-breds and light horses were also offered. Mr J. S. Buckland made an efficient auctioneer.

The new premises came in for much favourable comment. They extend from Albert-street to Chapel-street, each department of the firm's business beinj; well provided for. Special attention has" been paid to the wool store, and it is capable of holding 1,500 bales. One portion of the building has been built for the storage of hides. The horse sale yard is lofty, airy, and well-lighted, while the loose boxes are roomy and comfortable. Office accommodation is provided in the old Clanricarde Hotel building, which has been well fitted up.,
