CYCLING FATALITY.
A YOUNG LADY KILLED BY A
TRAM.
At Sydney on the night of October 30th Miss Ida Stacey, aged about 25, received fatal injuries through being crushed beneath the wheels of a Bondi tram. At the time Miss Stacey was on her bicycle. .No one appears to have actually witnessed the accident, but it seems very probable that it occnred through Miss Stacey losing her presence of mind. She was coming out or Ruthven-street into the Old South Headroad just as a tram and 'bus were approaching each other. Miss Stacey made a wild attempt to dash across the tramline a few feet in front of the motor, but when she reached the middle of the line she was knocked over and the wheels of the motor had passed over her legs before it could be stopped. One of the limbs was nearly severed from the trunk, and other injuries were also inflicted. Senior - constable Bowler took Miss Stacey to St. Vincent a Hospital, but she died a few minutes after admission. .
