MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.
Cuirassier.—The reef maintains its size of five feet. Colours of gold are seen in the foofcwall.
Waihi Extended.—The drive is passing through a much better channel of country whilst stringers of quartz and mineral seams are intermixed with the sandstone. Judging by its appearance the manager would be led to believe that a quartz lode ought not to be far ahead.
White Cliffs.—Two small leaders about three inches thick have been met with but the main reef has not been cut yet. Wealth of Nations.—Another chain of trenching lias been done on the line of reef. The lode still looks about the same.
Tamihana.—A leader about 12 inches thick has been cut, and is of promising appearance and shows nice minerals. Express-—More congenial country for driving is being met with.
Welcome Find.—Quartz stringers are being met with at No. 3 level. No. 2 lode at No. 2 level averages about six inches, and is of a promising nature for gold.
Adelaide. — The new leader is three inches thick, and shows nice colours.
New Wh'au. —At the present time the Chinos reef is rather broken up. In the low level the Sons of Freedom reef is about three feet wide, and more copper pyrites are showing.
Nonpareil.—The Liverpool reef shows a little gold in all the stopes. In the western end colours of gold are freely seen, and the manager has every hope it will make again and further improve. Orrnond. —During the week two chains of trenching have been done.
Albert.—No. 8 tunnel is in more promising country. A start has been made to open out on the quartz formation. The prospecting tunnel has been extended 20 feet.
Bunker's Hill—The western drive upon the leader has been commenced. The leader though small shows gold when taken down. In the north-east crosscut a leader of a friable nature has been passed through. Although no gold has been seen the stone contains antimony, pyrites and silica, it is encased in excellent sandstone. Temple Bar.—Since wiring one foot has been cut into No. !) reef at low level. It will take three shifts to get the hanging wall before starting to drive upon it west, underneath where the rich specimens were obtained in upper level. The stone at present carries rich, coarse gold.
Waitekauri King.—The drive on the above property is in a total distance of 807 feet.
