STODDART'S CRICKET TEAM.
MATCH AGAINST VICTORIA.
THE VICTORIAN INNINGS,
MELBOURNE, November 6.
The batting of the Victorians in their first, innings against Stoddart's team was throughout most consistent, but at the same time necessarily cautious, the bowling not permitting of any liberties being taken with it. On this account the scoring was slow. Bruce alone showed any freedom, his characteristic cutting being much in evidence, and with Graham he made a useful stand. Graham's batting was not up to his old form. All the retiring batsmen were dismissed by catches, Hirst capturing 3 wickets, Richardson 2, and Hayward 1. The following are the scores :—. VICTORIA.—First Innings, Worrall 25 McLeod 64 Trott 25 Graham ... 33 Bruce 88 Gilier ... 22 Harry, not out ... ' ... 13' McMichael, not out ... 1 Extras 2
Total for six wickets
