BLAGROVE'S FREEHOLD.

! Splendid progress continues to be made I with the sinking of the new shaft on the eastern boundary, a depth of 120 ft having been attained since starting. The main loader on which the shaft was primarily sunk recently functioned with another body of stone, and the two are now one leader, which has assumed a considerable underlie. The country is of the best possible descriptiod both for gold and working. It is in, tended to sink to the 200 ft level before opening out. The main crosscut from the main shaft is now in a distance of 1,006 ft, 301t having been driven for the week, which is remarkably good progress. Tha country here is also of the most favourable nature, and the cutting of any reef at the present time should result in the same carrying good gold. GOLDEN SHORE. The Johannesburg and New Zealand Exploration Company, who held an option j over the Golden Shore property of 130 acres iat Coromandel, have completed surface : arrangements, and start the sinking of the I shaft to-morrow. % HAURAKI ASSOCIATED. Some remarkably rich specimen stone ' has been obtained during the . month from the Hauraki Associated mines projperty, Coromandel. The specimens were taken from the stopes on the footwall reef at No. 2 level, about 201b being sent up to town. Manifestly the leader is a small one but exceedingly rich, as a seam of gold from one and a-half to two inches in width runa right through the stone on exhibition. Roughly estimated these specimens should | be worth close on five ounces of gold to the I pound.

HAURAKI NORTH RETURN.

A crushing of 78 tons of ore from the three feet reef in the western face of this property has just been completed for a return of 640z 18dwts of gold, value about £180. The tailings have been saved for separate treatment.
