THE CESSION OK KASSALA
HOME, September 20. After the reverses in the Abyssinian campaign, the Italian Government intimated their intention of ceding Kassahi, an important fortified town in Abyssinia, to Egypt; but subsequentlly agreed to retard the cession, in order to permit of the commencement of the British military operations in the Soudan in the autumn. The Italian Government has now notified the Egyptian authorities of their reluctance to hold the town beyond December, and the Governor of Suakirn, lias been despatched to Suakirn, to make arrangements for cession.
