EAGER FOR BATTLE.
Sydney, this day.
The local Tommy Atkins continues enthusiastic in his desire for death, or its companion, glory, in helping the Motherland. INow that India is practically closed to him his attention is turned to the forthcoming Egyptian Campaign. The Government took no action whatever in regard to the offer of men for India, and is rather cool over Egypt. The latter affair is not very prominent before the public at present, besides the unpleasant flavour of, the Soudan fiasco stiil lingers in the political mouth.
