Wind between east and north and northwest at all places northward of Lyttelton and Hokitika, and between north and west and south-west at all other places. Barometer fall at all places north of Lyttelton and Hokitika; fal 1 elsewhere after ten hours. Sea heavy on all western coasts of both islands, and on east coat northward of East Cape and southward of Napier. Tides nigh on all western coast northward of Hokitika, and on east coast north of East Cape and southward of Kaikoura. Northerly gales with rain are to be expected at all places northward of Lyttelton. and strong westerly winds elsewhere.
