Sydney, September 4. The Hawesbury Racing Club held their Spring Meeting to-day. The following was the result of the principal event -. — Hawkesbury Handicap.—One mile Wo furlongs and 100 yards. Betting : 7 to 1 against Parthenopaeus, 5 to 1 The Captain, 10 to 1 Metford. A splendid race, the winner just snatching a victory from The Captain, while Metford, who looked like a winner, was only beaten by a head for second place. Time, 2min 16,-jsec.
