A well-attended meeting of shareholders in this Company took place to-day in Mr K. Hood's ollice, Cook's Buildings, Queenstreet, when Mr Graves Aickin presided. The directors' report stated that that the area of the Company's property now that the Marguetta claim had been acquired was 200 acres. The Company had also purchased a water race, which the directors considered a valuable asset. In the low level crosscut a clay slide had been met which cut oil' the formation. The extension of the drive through this slide may he of importance, as it is now penetrating proper auriferous country. The balance-sheet showed receipts £200 lGs, and the expenditure left a credit balance of £20 8s lOd. In wages £114 13s was expended and in mine material £14 Ms 9d, while directors' fees only amounted to £14 10s. In moving the adoption of the report the Chairman said that shareholders might feel assured if calls were made they were likely to get something for their money. The directors had been asked by representatives of English capital to state upon what terms the property could be placed under oiler. The matter was under consideration at present and was really in embroyo. The reports were then adopted. Messrs La Roche and Robins were reelected directors, and Mr Eller auditor. BUNKERS HILL. The manager telegraphed this morning : —" Gold showing in the quartz broken toclay from the underhand stopes." MERCHANT OF VENICE. The following offer made by the New Zealand Mines Trust Company (Limited) for the above Te Aroha property h&s been accepted:—l. Three weeks from'date to be allowed for inspecting the property. 2. Six months working option to be given, and if any extension is required, £500 to be paid to the Company. 3. The New Zealand Mines Trust to form a company of £150,000, with a working capital of £30,000, vendors to receive 40,000 shares paid up to £1 each. 4. The New Zealand Mines Trust to have the right of purchasing the property for £20,000 cash. :
