AVONDALE JOCKEY CLUB.

Nominations for the two days' meeting of the Avondale Jockey Club closed last night, and it will he seen from the published list elsewhere that local owners have made a splendid response. The Avondale Cup has attracted the New Zealand Cup candidates, St. Paul, Fabulist, Haria, Antares and Lady Anna, besides the crack filly Miss Emmy. Among horses new to Auckland engaged is The Onyx, nominated from "Wellington. Weights for the first day are due on Monday. The officers of the Club for the year are as follows :— Judge: Mr John Bollard, M.H.R. ; starter, Mr E. D. Halstead; Handicapper, Mr J. O. Evett; Stewards, Messrs John Bollard, M.H.R., F. Lawn-, M.H.R., Robert Duder, M. Foley, H. T. Gorrie, A. Hanna, W. F. Inder, Donald McLeod, Jos. May, J. R. Martin, J. W. Ilnssell: treasurer, Mr J. R. Martin ; clerk of course, Mr Jas. Barr ; clerk of scales, Mr F. W. Marks.
