Thames, this day.

The following applications, adjourned from yesterday, were dealt with at the Warden's CourD this morning :—

James Welman, Glencoe, Tairua. —With reference to this ciaim tho' Warden said with regard to Mr Hopkins he had looked through the evidence given by him to Mr Burgess, and he did nob see anything in it bo give him a preferential claim. Mr Hopkins had no application before the Courb, although it; appeared he made application for resumption before 1896, and he did not think it was ever intended to resume Crown lands for mining purposes. The only course open for Mr Hopkins was to endeavour to make an arrangement with the other parties to the application.

Tho following applications were granted : — Welman, license issued in the oarao of A. Bruco, H. Gordon and George Crocker; Tarpan holding, granted in the name of Henry Brett, the Kauri Company's objection being withdrawn ; James Welaiau, Gl^ninnes claim, Tairua. The applications ot H. Gordon and William Gorrie for water-races at Tairua were granted.
