CRICKET IN ENGLAND.
A SPLENDID RECORD.
London*, September 1. In the thirteen matches at Lords, where be was engaged as one of the professional bowierg. Albert Trott, the ex-Victorian, scored 497 runs, and took 140 wicketa at a cost of 1,313 runs. In all the matches he played in Trott took 363 wickets.
The " Sporting Life," in reviewing the cricket season, says Trott ia one of the best all-round men in England.
Trott's services for the next season hare been retainsd by Middlesex. He will spend the winter in London.
J. O'Halloran, an ex-Victorian professional cricketer, has been engaged forthwinter by the Port Elizabeth (Cape Colonyo Club. W, Roche, who accompanied O'Hal) loran to England, is returning to Melbourne,
