Ngarcawahia, Thuriday. At a meeting of bhe Raglan Coanby Coon. cil commenced on Wednesday, a lengthy letter was received from Mr Wo. Dobmbi asking bhe Council to support the eettlera in bringing under bhe notice of the GoYsrnmeat the necessity of improving the communication with the Weib Coaib by-»M consbruction of a light or narrow g»aB« railway through the Raglan county, connecting with the Auckland Franktonlmfj Mr Duncan also waited upon the Council in Bupport of his letter. All "" councillors present promised to >«' sist in securing signatures to w>« enclosed petition, and after some ouca'sion the following resolutions were p»««" .—"That this Council respectfully W under the notice of the Government »• j necessity for having communication wit the West Coast improved by mean* or » light or narrow gauge railway."
