Wellington, this day. The winter co far has been extromolj mild, almost unseasonable, and a great contrast to lasb winter, which was fairly rainy, and almosb windless. So far there has been little rain, bub constant warm winds. One result is thab the best wool clip is expected in Wairarapa for 15 years. Cbemis has writben to Mr Mills, M.H.R., thanking him and obhers for bhe exertion oi ad a on his behalf. Since his release Chemis has received telegrams and letters congratulating him from all parba of febe colony. ;
A conference of pastoralists to consider the reduction of produce freights to London is convened for July Bth, bub as this ia the date of the Jockey Club Conference the conference will probably ba postponed till Friday.
