ROTHSCHILD. The meeting of shareholders is this Company lapsed. The balance sheet} showed cash in hand £25, unpaid calls £85 18s 9d. The directors' report stated that protection had been obtained. In consequence of this wages had, gone on. A call ot ono farthing per share waa made, which would have covered all expenses, but only about onethird of the shareholders paid. It was now intended to make another call of three farthings and keep the mine going till protection was obtained. All the forfeited shares would be allotted pro raia amongst the shareholders who paid this call. BALFOUR, The half-yearly meeting of the Ralfour ©oldmining Company to have been held yesterday afternoon lapsed. The directors' report stated that protection had been obtained, and the directors were waiting the result of negotiations for the Bale of the property. The accounts showed the cash in Ban* and on hand to be £277 16s JOd. WAIHI DREDGING. The ordinary general meeting of the Waibi Dredging Goldmining Company was held yesterday afternoon ab the office of Mr J. Barber. Mr J. S. Smith presided. The directors' report stated that negotiations for the sale of the property in London had been proceeding very satisfactorily until quite recently, when the depressed state of tho Loa.don markeb forced the directors to the conclusion that the Company must take the matter in its own hands and work the property. The Company's capital was intact, and would be ample to erect machinery and carry out the works. The statement of accounts showed receipts for the year to be £406 6s 9d, expenditure £262 13s 2d, leaving a credit balance of £143 13s 7d, The report and balance-sheet were adopted. It was resolved that the directors be authorised to prepare plane and specifications, and call for tenders for the required plant, ami to submit tho same to shareholders for their consideration.
