The funeral of the late Foreman Merrick, of the Auckland Fire Brigade, took place yesterday afternoon at the Catholic Cemetery, Symonds - street. The coffin was placed en a hose reel drawn by a detachment of the Auckland Fire Brigade. In addition to the Fire Brigade members present there was also a detachment of police under Sergeanb Clark. Father Gillan conducted the funeral service.
