New Pltmouth, this day A young man named James Telfar has been missing from Urenui since Saturday. Search parties are out, but grave doubts are felt for his safety. Christohurch, this day. Ab the Supreme Court, on bhe application of Mr Joynb, counsel for Sbeehan, bhe Amberley murder case was fixed for June 16th, to allow time for the preparation of bhe defence. Dunedin, this day. The Dunedin Presbytery to-day considered the caae of John Ryley, and having received a report from the Committee on bhe eubjecb, declared thab Ryley bad ceased bo be and was no longer a minister of the Church. At the criminal sittings to-day Alex. Williams, forhousebreaking, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. Thoma» Barrett, who had been reprieved while serving a sentence of ten years on the plea of blindness, was sentenced to three years for honsebreaking. Taupo, this day. The Native Land Court finished the Tihoi case yesterday, after many weeks of hearing. The Court may finish bhe remaining cases in about a fortnight.
