LICENSING MEETINGS.

MANUKAU.

The annual meoting of the Manukau Licensing Committee was held at the Courthouse, Onehunpa, today. The following members were present:—Mr Thos. Hutchison, S.M. (Chairman), and Messrs E. Burdon, D. Neilson, G. J. Jackson, Roborb Hall, \V. C Gavin. Sergeant Greene represented tha police. All tho renewals applied for werogranted subjecb in a few cases to certain recommendations by the Committoe and police re repairs, etc. in tho case of the Victoria Hotel, Sergt. Greene contended that the building n&s quita inadequate for the business ; bub after some discussion, the license v:i\b renewed, subject to an understanding that plans for an improved building will be submitted ab the Docomber meeting of the Committoe. Mr Nicholson euggosfcod that the clerk should be instructed to endorse on the licenses the name of the local body to whom the license feea were payable. Mr Hutchison pointed that it was necessary to do thio to comply with the Acb.
