KAURI GUM MARKET.
A private cable received from London states that the markeb there for kauri gum is very dull, and that presenb quotations "o for good No. 1 three-quarter scraped, 30s j for No. 2 ha{f-seraped, 58s 6d ; for .o, 3 pickings, 38*. Theso quotations represent a fall of from 5a to 6s on the prices ruling a few months ago, and unless a Miral takes place shortly in the American toarkeb ib is feared thab prices locally will bo affected. It is really only tho very small supplies sent in that has so far prevented a decline in prico3 here. Regarding the American market it is stated thab tbe steady advance in the price of kauri gum during the past few years has tended to {dmewhat restrict the demand from New _ork.
