At the Postal Conference held recently in Melbourne, of which Mr Seddon, aa Post-master-General for New Zealand, was President, the following resolution, which amongob obhers was" passed by the delegates, has since been assented to by the colonies represented with tho exception of Western Australia, which does not bind itself bo ib:—'•This Conference hereby expresses ib great satisfaction bhab the Pacific Cable Commission has decided to recommend the adoption of the proposals formulated at the Sydney Conference, and, in view of bhe greab importance to the Empire the construction of the cable would be, expresses the hope thab means may at an early date be found for its speedy realisation."
