Messrs Toomak and Co. reporb a business generally has been brisk during the week Potatoes: Local samples are almost unsaleable, and in bhe majority of cases unfit for table purposes. Values ruled from 20s to 30s per ton, and where quality wa« fair up to £3. Southern Taranaki potatoes fetched £5 per ton and were in good demand. Onions sold up to £5 10s for prime samples and £4 to il ius for medium. Kumeras fetched 5s to 7s cwt; pumpkins, 2s 6d to 4s ; carrots, 30s Jo 40a to" ; fowl wheab, 3a to 3s 6d bui-h; oata, 2s 6d ; maize, 2s 9d to 3s; bran, £3 15s per ton; sharps, £4. Tho butter market is still very lull. Prime dairy fetched 4d to 6d per lb ; poor and salt 2d to 4d ; Taranaki fresh potted, 7-J-d : TJ'a lo B*d to Is lOd -, honey, slow of aale Rb lid to 2d per lb, and 2s to 3s per dozen for section ; prime dairy cheese, 3d to 3id lb, factory, 4d to, 4Jd Prime Southern baco»,7-}d; hams, BJd: shoulders, 4d to 5d per lb. Fruit markeb farmer. Prime cooking apples sold from 3s to 4s 6d per case ; dessert, 3b to 9s 9d, the latter price being realised for Cox oranee pippen ; poor lines. 2a to 2s 6d.
