A great ocean race has just been completed. The British ship Rahan left San Francisco on November 20th, and the Puritan, Cromartyshire, Queen Margaret and Ross-shire on tho 21st, all bound for Greafc Britain. A dinnor and several suits of clothes were wagered on tho outcome of the race, but bhe Puritan was the favourite. When a month out the Ross-shsro, Cromartyshire and Puritan were in company off the coast of Central America, and there was a good deal of good-natured badinage over bhe matter.
