We held our weekly auction on Tuesday, the 2nd inst., and had a long catalogue of bidea, skins, and wool. Competition for hides remains active ; wool also met a fair market. The bulk of the Hkins offering at present are not of high value, and bidding is not animated.
Hide?: Prime etonb ox, s|d to 6Jjd; heavy stonfc, 4|d to s§d ; medium, 3sd to 4Jd ; light up to 2jjiJ ; cow bides, 3^d to &l<\ ; calf op to 4sd ; horse bides, 5a ; kip, 3Jd to 3sd ; stags, l£d.
Skins : Unchanged
Wool: Lambs', s£d ro 6|d ; inferior half bred, 5d ; mixed crossbred. s|d to sfd ; pieces, 3d to 4d; dead wool, up to s£d.
Bones are realising good prices, owing to active demand for grinding and the advance in the ?alue of manure. All coming in find ready sale.
Grass seeds and bonedußt are selling freely for autumn improvements.
