In connection with the Junior Schola r" ship examination, the results of whic° were published yesterday, we learn tha° Annie M. Arden, of Grafton and Clara J. Aapinall, of Wellesley-afcreob both gained over 50 per cent, of the aggregate number of marks on the whole examination, bub failed to get the requisite 30 per cenb. in history. These will, we underBband, be recommended for free tuition ab the Grammar School. Mr Chas. H. Jenkins, who has been removed from relief at the Auckland railway station to Christchurch, was the recipient of a present this afternoon from members o Lodge Waitemata, 689, E.C. The preeentatioa took the form of a "Iver-mounted walking etick, made of New Zealand woods. Mr C. Grey made the presentation on behalf of the Lodge.
