Sir Wt V. Harcourb, in bhe course of a speech, expressed the hope that the Government would consider the demands a. set forth in the Irish Financial Commission's reporb. The direct and indirect taxation of England were aboub equal, while the indirect taxation of Ireland represented about three fi jurths of bhe whole amounb of ber taxation.*
