EDUCATIONAL.
Tho annual meeting of the Auckland Technical Schools Association was held on Dec. 18 in the rooms ot tho Association, Rubland-sbreeb. There wore eleven gentle men present, including Mr J. J. Holland, M.H.R.. who presided. There were no representatives of the general public present in addition to members of the Council or officers of the Association. The Secretary (Mr J. H. Mackie) read the report and balance-sheet) for bhe past year. The accounts for the year ending November 30th showed thab the total receipts, including.balance carried forward £203 6a 3d, amounted to £70S lis lid, and after defraying expenses there was ab date a balance of £220 15s 6d. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year : — President, Sir G. M. O'Rorke ; Vice-president, the Mayor (Mr A. Boardman) ; members of Council, Hon. T. Thompson, lion. \V. Jennings, Professor Brown, Rev. D. W. Runciman, Messrs J. J. Holland, E. Barbley, George Fraser, F. Fowler, T. Herbert, and H. G. Wado.
Mr James Russell, solicitor, who bas been on a visit to bhe Old Country, returned to Auckland, via Sydney, by the s.s,, Rotomahana on December 20. He looks much benefited in health.
