j TnE " Jingo " Senators, who favour a w»r----j like policy in regard to the Cuban question, are furious at the refusal of tbe President ■ to act upon the resolution which was passed recognising the belligerency of the Cuban rebels. They denounce Mr McKinlay and Mr Olney, the Secretary of State, as dictators, and accuse them of openly defying Congress. It is alioged that eke news of tbe decision of the Foreign Committee leaked out prematurely, and that it was used on the New York Stock Exchange. Grave statements are afloas concerning this matter. When the decision wa_ announced oia the Exchange by Mr Chauncay Depew heavy sales immediately followed. Later. A general protest from the country has compelled the Senate to postpone its discussion on the Foreign Committee's isolation relating to Cuba for a fortnight The financial interest is now reassured. Tbe House bas refused te agree to the Senate'! amendments in the Alien Immigrant Bill, bub baß consented to a conference.
