Waitaia.—Fair crushing dirb ia still comiag to hand from Barrett's lavel. ISlo. 4 level: Tha drive going north on No. 3 reof ia ia 392 foot from tho crogscut. The quartz coming' bo hand during the last week haa nob been up to tha average in quality. The reef is well defined aud avdragsa 9 inches in width. Low level: This drive is in 126 feet and is still going fciarouKh hard shooting ground, thdcountry rock being interlacod with small qnartz vein?. Premier.—No. 4 leader is small bui tho quartz coming to hand looks promising. On No. 3 leader. Northern Lead sestion, fair prospects of gold have been obtained. ! Golden Giant.—There ia bo change.
SurKRB. —Aa yeb have nofe been successful in finding anything: of note, but expect to pick up a reef aa the treach advances up near Mm top of the range. Gladys.—Six feet have boen sunk oh a largo botly of stone four feet wide, and it carries a little gold. I will forward you a sample for assay. Should this reef prove to bo payable it will bo of very great importance t» the Company, ib being such a large body of stone. Wheal Bassett.—lu the crosscut No. 2 roef is improving in size and the quartz is looking better. There is also a decided improvement in No. 3 reef, it is getting irioro compact and givea a lifcile g«ld by pounding. ,j UNO.—The quartz from the reof in the winzo is boing stacked for treatment. In the S.W. drive tho reef ia split up into small leaders, eoine of which show gold frenly. Good crushing dirt) and ft little picked stono is being gob from the lode in No. 3 drive.
Crack Darling.—Tha reef in tbe Porbsea low levol ia aix foeb wide, and the stone ia of a kindly nature. Judging by the stream of water issuing from the face there phauld be a large body of ora ahead;
Orlando. —The new reef is at present split ifit<» small ribs of e;uiim. VVkloome Find.—Stoping ia ablll proCfleding above the intermediate level,where tho lode is sbrong and looks well, although no Kold wns seen last breaking down. Midas.—A croßscnb has been started fca iateraecb h small reef showing on the surface, which gave good prospects. Goldkn Spuk.— The tow levol is passing through counbry heavily charged with mineral.
Haoraki No. 2.—The chamber has been uninhed and tno crosscut commenced.
Express.—There iB a slight improvement iv the counbry through which the drive ia passing. Silica and mineral reins are being mot with. Alburnia East.—The raaia reof is somewhat disturbed, but the surrounding country ia favourable. The socond lode should bo cub shortly. New VVhao.—The Middle Star reef is heavily charged with minerals. Adelaide. —North the reef shows colours of gold when broken down. Southward the reef shows most k%ld >« the bottom of the level,
Maori Dream. — The raef is again making in the north cud of No. 1 drive into a nice compact body of stone, carrying payable gold. lona (Greab Barrior).—Tno croaicut ia in 40 feet, going through first-class gandstona country. Scandi.vavian (Thames). — Stoping is proceeding on No. 3 reof, and tbo quartz how being broken out ia similar to tha»i previously obtained. I will start tho battery on the 14bh and crush the quartz we have on hand.
