AUCKLAND POLO CLUB'S SPOUTS AND RACES.
Ox Saturday next the Auckland Polo Clnb holds its annual sports and races at Porfcer'a Paddock, and as will bo seen from our Gdveriising columns, a very interesting and amusing programme is presented. In addition to the polo cup there will be a hurdle race, a clow 'uua rnce, and grooms race. In the last event tho handicap will be by distance, which will be quite a novelty to Aucklandor*. Amongst tho amusing items will bo a flag raca and v rescue nice (familiar in military tournaments), and a tag oi-war on bare back ponies. In the rescue raca each comuetitor has to carry a dummy figure of not los 6 than 4ft 6iu in length, and a prize is also offered :ur the bost dummy. A. polo match will also be played by two strong teams, as in past years spectators hnvo complained of no opportunity being offerer! of their teeing tho game of polo. Id will be scon, therefore, that the Club offcru a good day'a spore to the spectators. 'I he German Bind will be ia attendance during tho afternoon.
