The Women's Democratic Union held ifcj usual fortnightly meeting in the Wenley Hal! lasb evening, tho President, Mtj Co! Sings, in the chair. The meeting was ea open one. As announced in another column, Mr Alfred Wcipert has issued a very prettily designed series of Christmas and New Year cards. They are suitable for framing. The subjects are all New Zoalaud eceneaj and mostly from the North Island. The cards are much admired, and no doubt) will bu largely bought to send to England. The price is only 2s 6d. The cards are to be had from tha Art Photo Company, Shortland-streefc, and the principal stationere.

A concert and exhibition of fancy dancing will tako place in the Caledonian Hall, Coromandel, on Saturday night next), This will bo followed by a dance under the management) of Mrs Brett.
