MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.
Southern- Cross.—Tha crosscut is in 124 feet.
A.J.C.—A stringer has been cub which prospects well in tho dish, and looks like making larger. Gold can bo seen when panning from tha big reef. Star ov Waihi.—There ia no change to report. 1 cannot find any settled or solid ground or indications of a reef. IVaikanae. —The prospects conbinuo the same in the creek lavel. A crosscut has intersected two small loaders giving quartz of a very kindly promising naturo. As for the big reef higher up the creek, wo have done luithor prospecting. We put in several shots and traced it into the bush towards the high or trig corner, thus proving this reef to run tho longest portion of the ground, from corner to corner. La Mascoi'Tß. —Wo are in a total distance of 102 tees with No. 2 crosscut. In No. 3 the total distance is 94 feet.
Specimen Hill,—-The reef at .!>•:: o. 4 level still looks weil, with blotches of nice mineral. No. 6 level : Nino feot for week. Leader still looking well.
GaM of Hauraki. —The road to the mine and hut is now finished. Other man ara trenching, and so far have succeeded in tracing the reef a distance of rive chains. Napier. — A now leader was cut on Friday. It is two inches thick. Goodenouoh. —A trail of loo3e gold was found on tho surfaca of t!ii3 mina, bus so far the reef has not been located.
Asteroid. —A small vein of quartz is crossing ilia faco of the driva.
CuviFiß Light.—The leader maintains its 8*17,8, and is very kindly looking tor gold.
CarNAGK. —Tue low level lias been drivon 9ffc for sho week, and tharo i 3 a very good clas3 of sandntona in tho face. The "drive ha* been turned more in an easterly dhection and will now follow the courso of the reef. The easterly drive h*a beets axtsaddd 15tG for tha week and is now in 40fD. Rothschild iKarangahako.)—The bottom level ia now in I*23ft. The country is softer and better progress should be made. Water is still coming in from the face. We are steadily prospecting on the surface. My Sweetheart. —There is every appearance of a change for tho bettor. i Sybil.—The reef should be intersected at lOOfb of driving. Mat aval— The winze is down 12ft. Fortuna No. 2.—A start has been msda to open out on bhe now leader, which is Ift thick.
