BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETINGS.
ONEHUNGA.
The fortnightly meeting of the Onehunga -Borough Council was held last night, when there were present) the Mayor (Mr D. A. Sutherland), Messrs Colledge, Nixon, MeKeozio, Burden, llowe a»d Laking. Stabbing wrote itifortuiag t lie Council that owing to loese stones lyin<; its the street his horse, had tripped, and. failing, had cut both it* knees, He asked for £2 coiaponaauon.—Referred to the Streets Committee to consider and report.
Public Library.—Messrs Fleming and Murdoch, trustees of tbo public library, wrote offering to band the sjamo over to bho Council DroviiHng fche Council will forego ifca eiaiof for £34 due for rent.—Referred to Council in Committee to consider and report.
Gas Lamp. —A petition' signed by fifteen resident* asked the Council to erecb a gaa lamp ab tho corner of Queen-streeb and Mount Smart Read. —- Kaferrod to tho Council in Committee.
Charitable Aid.—A coßimunicatiea waa received from the Tar&naki Jio3pital and Charitable Aid Board regarding the growing demand for charitable aid, aad urging thab the whole of tha revaaua required for charity purposes should bo a charge on tho consolidated funds of the colony.
Finance.—The treasurer read his usual statement as follows:—General account: Balance to credit November 16th, £89 10s b<i ; deposited since, £20 lls lid : tot.il, £110 8a 5d ; cheques drawn Bince, £12 19s lOd ; balance to credit November 30th, £97 8s 7d. Waterworks account : Balance to credit November 16t,h, £438 0s lid ; deposited since, £70 0* Sd : total, £503 la 4d ; cheques drawn since, £5 12s; balance to credit November 30th, £502 9a 4d. VVater Extension.—Several applications for water were received and determined, including Cardwell • etreat aad Sutherland's Tuunery.
