BOATING FATALITY.
THREE PERSONS DROWNED.

Haweea, this day. A pad boating accident occurred at Waio^onsoro Baacb, between Hawera asd Manaia, at eleven o'clock on Sunday morning.
A party wf eight-—Maesra R. Briggs, C. Wordoworih, Charles Clarke, Harry Sisley, John Caldwell, Misses Wordsworth (2) sad Clara C'rowhurat—went ©uti in en open boat, and whon returning the boat was struck by a breakor and capsized.
R. Briggs, C. Wordsworth, and Mias Crowhurat were drowned. Their bodies were subsequently recovered much bruised.
Wordsworth v/as a married man, about 45, and leaves a wife and six children.
Brigge was married, was about 27 yaare, and loaves a wife and ene child.
Clara Crowhurat, aged 17, was t]je daughter of Mr Crowhurab, of the "Manaia Witness."
Wordsworth waa a woll-known settler. He was one ot tha survivors of tho wreck ot the Stratbmoro, wrecked on Crozob Island many yoara ngo, and was rsscued from Dha island aftor boicg caatav^ay about twelve months.
