The Borough Council met on tho 15th insfe., wlion all wero preeenb bub Mr Howe. The financial statement showed an overdraft of £48, but by nexb mooting it is expected there will be a credib balance of fully £100 from rates. Ib was resolved to call tenders for reforming Dick and Alpha streets on plans and specifications prepared by Mr PavitD, of To Aroha. Ib was rnsolved to get tha Engineer to prepare plans for draining the northern portion of the borough, which ia greatly needed in several places. Several streets wero authorised to be patched, using aboub 300 loads of gravel. Band instruments are to be called in for inspection and reissued, and the Mayor is to make inquiries when in Auckland as to firo ladders. Cr. Wells gave notice of motion to rescind a resolution making the Works Committee coneist of tho whole Council. Mr A. Bach was this morning re-elected Mayor unopposed.
