A WOMAN MISSING,
ELECTION OF COUNCILLORS.
A PAINFUL ACCIDENT.

Hamilton, this day. No definite trace has yet been obtained of mieeing Mrs McCann, beyond the finding ot her hab near the Karapiri Bridge, Cambridge, which looks ominous. The hab bears unmistakeable signs of having been lying on the road, and baßbeen knocked abonk by passing vehicles* Additional particulars show that on Wednesday, last, at about ? p.m., she left her home and went off in the direction of Cambridge West, taking with her a little grandson, saying she was going to visit her daughter, Mrs Brindle. After- proceeding some distance Bhe sonb the boy home again and was eeea a little below Vogei-fitroefc, Cambridge, a few minutes later, Search ha» bean made in the Waikato without Huccess, but tha finding of the hat loaves little doubt but that the river has claimed another victim.
The triennial elections of councillors for the various ridings took place during Ibb6 week, and the complete list is now to band as follows : — Waipa—Pukekura Hiding : J. B. Teaadale, W. H. Mandeno: Mangapiko Riding : George Tobty, H. J. Bell. Ncwca&fclo Riding : J. J. Bycrofb (unopposed). Tuhakeremai Riding : E. J. Viekers (unopposed). Pirongia : Bruce. Hamilton Hiding : No nominations wera received on the original day. Messrs E. White and S. Steele have since been nominated, and an election will take place at the Frankton creamery on Tuesday. Piako—Waitoa Riding : A. Aitken, W. P. Chepmell. Mataaaata Riding :Mr J. MeCaw (unoppoeed). Te Aroha Riding : Messrs Gavin, W. H. Herrias. Patetere Riding : Mark Harrison, W. C. Ring (unoppoeod). Taotaoroa Riding : Mr N.. 1. Hunts. Waikato—Kirikiroa Riding : A. Primrose, H. Hoddon, John Gordon (unoppoeed). Huntly Riding: Mr J. P. Bailey ( uuoppoeed). Tamahere Riding: A. Furze (unopposed.) Cambridge: Mr W. H. Thomaß (unopposed). Wbangamario : A. Mcßae. A youth named Parkes, of Huntly, raeb With a painful accidenb ab that place. The borfle he was riding fell, and rolled on him, breaking his thigh. He was brought up to the Waikato Hospital on Saturday.
