LAWN TENNIS.

On the Eden and Epsom lawns on Satur day, progressive tennis was very successfully played. At tho conclusion ib was found two ladies and two gentlemen had scored five points each, and ib was decided to toes for partners and play a final game, which resulted in Mrs C. R,. Chapman ana Mr Claude Heather defeating Misa A Nicholson and Mr Taylor.

The Auckland Tennis Club who have lawns on the Auckland Bowling Green ground, Grafton Road, opened their lawn, for play on Saturday afternoon. A very large number of members of the Club and friends were present, despite the strong counter attractions, and a very pleasant afternoon was spent, the lawns being kepo fully occupied.

On Wednesday afternoon next the Par. . nell Lawn Tennis Club open their lawns for the season.
