TRIAL IN ENGLAND.

London, November 15. Thirty motor cars, fitted with all sorts of tires, started on a race from London to Brighton yesterday, a distance ot 5G miles. An immense crowd watched them at various points, and unbounded interesb was displayed in the novel spectacle. Both weather and roads were unfavourable to such an experiment, and 17 machines were disabled. The rest were fairly euccessfnl. Two of the " 801 l C." type occupied four hours on the journey.

At a banquet held afterwards, Lord Wincbelsea claimed that this was bhe beginning of a greab national industry.
