The Reim'era Musical Society is about to close its first) season with a performance of Cowen's " Rose Maiden." "With the exception of two or three gentlemen who have kindly volunteered their assistance in the orchestra, no outside talent is to take part, This speaks for itself, as the " Rose Maiden," though s moat beanbiful work, is »y no means an easy task. There are over «ixty working members and a large honorary roll, which is decidedly a good commencement!, and most) enco.uragicg to t-hoee who wre instrumental in the formarios of the Society. A movemenb of this kind should be warmly supported in the rliatricr, as it gives the younger portion oi the community who have a taste for music »uch good opportunities of improving themselves, especially ia thß orchestra. The «oGcert on Monday night will be open to Kbe public, and those who are not members -hould take this chance of acquainting themselves with the work of the Society.
