LATE PARLIAMENTARY.
AGRICULTURAL AND STOCK
COMMITTEE
(BY TELEGRAPH. —PARLIAMENTARY RE
PORTER.)
Wellington, this day. The Agricultural and Stock Committee met this morning to consider the Orchard Pests and Noxious Weeds Bills. The Committee refused to pass all the clausos of the former measure, except one dealing with phylloxera, bub they were disposed to accept a clause prohibitive of gending infected fruib into clean districts without the intervention of the local bodies, as provided for in the existing law, and ib is probable that, as a tentative moasure, they will accept a clause to compel orcbardists to drees the stems and large branches of trees in the winter season.
The evidence taken re frozen meab and the dairy industry was considered, and the Hon. Richardson and Messrs Lawry and Buchaoan were appointed to draft a report re frozen meat freights, and Messrs Lawry, Duncan, and McLachlan re bhe dairy industry. Consideration of the Noxious Weeds Bill was postponed.
