FATAL ACCIDENT.
FALL FROM A SCAFFOLD. x\ BRICKLAYER KILLED. An accident which unforbunatoly had o fatal termination occurred to-day in Queen-street. A bricklayer named Frank Cork was employed by Mr J. Ellinghaca, contractor, for making certain alterations in tbe premises of the Loan and Mercantile .Agency Company. Cork was engaged ut> tbe second floor catting out a doorway, being assisted by hia mate, David .Murray. About a quarter to two o'clock .&■] urray went to get some bricks and mortar, .and as he was coming back just saw the shadow of a body passing fcbe window in the corridor. He at onca went! to the spot and caw Cork lyiug senseless on the pavement of the yard. Evidently Cork had miased his footing, and hence the accident. Murray at onca called lor assistance, and medical aid was sent for, with the result! that Dr. Sharman «aa soon in attendance. A very slight •examination showed that the back of the
11 unfortunate man's ekuil was so seriously injured that nothing could be done to save \ ii)i« life. The doctor, however, remained until about twenty miautes past two, when the man died. Deceased has been a resident of Auckland since childhood. Ho lived on.Parnell Rise, was married, and leaves a family of aoven without the breadwinner. .
