THE MILK SUPPLIERS.
A DEADLOCK,
(by telegraph—own correspondent.)
Hamilton, this day. The settlement of the dairying question seems to be as far off as ever. Ib was thought that the meeting held at Ohaupo yesterday would finally arrange matters, but it was unanimously agreed to reject the terms offerod by Messrs Reynolds and Co. A resolution was passed offering to accept 2fd per gallon for the whole season, with Jd bonus for factories supplying 20 por cent, more milk than la«t year. The representatives of tho Company visited the Pukerimu, Pukekura and Hamilton creameries to-day. The suppliers of the former decided to adhere to the resolution paasad at Ohaupo yesterday.' Pukekura agreed to accept 2|d for the whole season. Hamilton tefused to reply until after the general meeting at Ohaupo on Tuesday next, at which the representatives of the Company have been invited to bo present. The Company expresses ita inability to deparb from tho present schedule, and suppliers aro equally determined nob to accepb such prices, which would pay largo factorieß well enouf/h, bub would havo tho effect of crippling all smaller ones, co at present there is a complete deadlock. Mr McEawn visits tbe Waikato next week, addressing the suppliers on the working of proprietory factories in America.
