Georee Henry Cbuds was sentenced to one months imprisonment with hard labour tibia morning, on a charge of ringing the changes.
Wellington, this day. Cabinet decided to renew the rewards for capturing dosertern from the JN'avy. Salvation Army officers have been granted permission to vi*ib the gaols in connection with prison rescue Work, and the Government have placed the immigration barracks in Christchurch at the disposal of the Army. The Governmonb have agreed fchab New Zealand shall be represented ab the Salvation Army Exhibition of products ab London in August next.
Messrs Hyde and Gray, of Wellington, Kayo, of Palmemton North, and Cameron, of Dunedin, have been appointed on probation tor selection on the permanent Hansard staff. The intention is thab from the present staff, and those now appointed, tha permanent staff shall be ultimately selected.
