- After a passage of 14 days the barquentine Silver Cloud arrived in port from Newcastle thia morning, and was berthed at the Railway Wharf to discharge.
The Union Company's steamer Corinna, which replaces the Taupo in the trade to Rarotonga and Tahiti, armed last) night) from Oamaro and Tinaaru, with a cargo of general produce.
The fcopjail schooner Clansman, bound from Noumea to Ly&fcelton, with a cargo o? guano, pat into port this morning through stress of weather. The passage from Noumea was done in the record time of eight days, which is almost equal to steamer time.
The B.b. Taupo, from Tahiti and Rarotsnga, arrived list night with a large cargo of frait and general Island produce. The Taupe was somewhat behind time, partly owing to delay in loading at Society Islands and Rarqtonga, and partly to the strong head winds which she met with all the way from the latter port to Auckland. Mr Burnett, the purser, reports that the Taupo arrived at Rarotonga from Auckland on the 13fch ulb., was at Takiti on the 16tb, aud having called at Pipeureri, arrived back at Rarotonga on the 23rd. Sailed at 9 p.m. next day for Auckland direct, and experie»ced continaous westerly and sowlwest winds with head seas to arrival.
