The following business waa traiacted alb the meeting of tha Board of Education yesterday cfter we wenb to press :—

Boildebs' Association.—ln raply to tha Board's memo. •* A] arch 24th re. conditions for buildings a letter was read from the Auckland Builders' Association complaining that the Board's conditions were decidedly incomplete owing to there being no section contained therein affording a mode of appeal open to both »ida» in the c*se of • dilforsnea with the architect during (or afe the conclusion of) m contract. A copy of the builders' conditions was forwarded, with a communication drawing tho attention of the Board to cerUio clauses.— lt was decided to forward a copy of the architect's opinion on the clauses in question, the opinion being favourable to the inclusion of clauesi to provide for the abova. Establishment of Schools. — An application for toe re - opening of the school at Arai was referred ba tha inspector to report). It was stated that the Kerikeri (Bay of Islands) were making arrangements to get the use of the church for school purposes. An application from the settlsra at Oponriao, aaar Whakatane, was referred to tho Whakatone School Committee.

Tauranqa.— The Tauranga School Committee requested the Board to establish one school in a central cite ia the town, instead of two, as at prerant. The new site would cost £150.—The application was deferred.

Flat Bosh.—Mr Woodward moved :~ "That leaders be called for the removal of the stable and buggy-house erected at the co<>b of the teacher of the Flat Bush School to the eifce to which the teacher's house ia being removed, the Board to boar the expense."—lt was resolved, on the motion of Mr VTright. "That the teacher be allowed to sail tha stable or ramave il at hi* own cosb, as requested."
