PkideofTokatba.—The first sfcope on the footwall lead has been carried along as far as the chamber; colours of gold hare been seen at each breaking down, The second sfcopa is along 15 feet in nice mineraliaed country ; g»od blotches of gold have been eeea each breaking down. The rise is up 22 feet in good-looking country for gold ; blotches and colour* of gold hare been «een each breaking down. The intermediate level on the footwall lead haa been advanced to 21 feet from the junction, with prospects of gold each breaking down. The lead haa been rather small in all the face* this week, averaging two to three inches thick, but i» seems to be again improving in eize. In the level under the road, the mullock has been shitted, and cleaned up for a distance of 106 feet.

Hercules..—Have two men on stripping the surface from fche outcrop northward. The reef exposed is about 30 yards in length, varying in height from b'ix feeb to 10 feeb. Some rabbly quartz ia carrying & little gold. Excelsior.—The country the drive is passing through shows small reins of quartz striking across the face.

Sovereign. — Have been driving on another reef sir feet wide. Can get a few colours by pounding and washing. Oceania,—Tho country penetrated has been very tight. A kind of leader formation ia coming in on the.left-hand side of drive. The water is increasing, and a few feet of driving should see a change for tho better.

Great Kapanoa.—Two men are surface trenching. A email loader was met with in No. 2 drive, carrying excellent mineral. Young New Zealand.—ln No. 2 level the country is tighter, with quartz veins running through, it from 1 to 2in thick. Fbeedom.—The leader driven on carries more mineral, andalsoalittle gold. Another leader has been meb with running in the same direction, 4in in thickness. The trial crushing from the big reef etarted on June 29th.

Kinc of Waihi.—Tho drive on the reef has been extended 12 feet.

Matadba.—l had the drive extended a further diatanceof 14ft to see whether there was any more quartz, but there was none, so I will start to drive on the reef. I would recommend that two men be taken out'of this drive and pat down lower where the reef looka better.

Golden Spark.— The manager reports that the reef in fcba face of the crosscut in the low level ia aboat 2fb, and looks very promising. The intermediate level has been driven through a splendid class of sandstone, but nothing notable has been met with. I expect to cut No. 2 reef in this level shortly. Waitekacei 2s o. 2.—The low level is penetrating an.ice class of brown sandBtono interlaced with quartz stringers. Two other lodes have beca discovered in the Londonderry section, but they do not prove to be of any value by the panning-off process, Ohikkmori Stthbicate. —EUiob tunnel : The contractors made better progress in this level during the past week, having driven 18ft. Annie Greek level : The day before the recent flood we had, I believe, jusb touched the wall of the reef. Victoria.— In the western drive at No. 3 level the leader haa shown signs of improvemenb during the week, an abundance of bright mineral being seen in the quartz taken dowa. In their.termccliatelevel east of tho winze below No. 1 there is a nice compact body of stone about 12in in thickness. A few colours of gold were seen in breaking it down. In tho etopes above the intermediate level going west, sold ie freely seen in the quartz. Above No 1, level the quartz has a kindly appearance for gold, and occasionally a little is seen.
