9,918 bales were catalogued on the opening day of the wool sales, but the selection was only mediocre. There was a large attendance of buyers from Home and the Continent, bub Americans were absent. Competition was spirited, crossbreds were unchanged, bub merinos declined rive per cent., the fall being moat noticeable in inferior Berts.
