THE NEWCASTLE STRIKE.
Sydney, June 9.
Tbe ballot of the Newcastle miners has resulted in the rejection of the delegates' recommendation to accept the owners' proposals, and the adoption of an amendment demanding that a higher price should be charged for coal, and that the hewing rate should be increased.
